Product Description
PLA 3D printer filament is the most environment-friendly 3D filament solution. Because of its low toxicity, PLA filament is a very popular choice in the 3D printing community.
Great Filament
Great color (vibrant, some cool iridescence in the right light), and prints with no issues. It's a little translucent in thin layers (can see bed lettering through the first 0.2mm layer), which occasionally tricked the optical filament sensor in my Original Prusa i3 MK3, but I turned that off and it still prints fine. Using the default "Generic PLA" preset in Slic3r PE I tested a temperature tower (thingiverse #2729076) from 250C to 200C and it looked nearly perfect over the whole range - some odor above the recommended max of 235C, and duller finish below the recommended min of 215C, but overhangs, spans, and stringing were all great (stringing got worse above 235C, but even then still well within acceptable). The beginning of my spool measured almost exactly 1.75mm (0.069 on my inch dial calipers), but about 1m in it settled out to 0.068in (1.73mm) and stayed nearly constant for the first quarter of the spool or so (as far as I've gotten). Thinnest I measured was a little over 0.067in (~1.71mm) in one place within the first 1m, so even though it's not specified, it's easily within the 1.75mm +/- 0.05mm "standard". I've got it set to 1.73mm in my slicer and have nearly perfect results so far, with no visible under- or over-extrusion.
